Bowhunting & Archery



 Thames Valley Deerstalker Bowhunters and Archery Division was established in 2008. Joining together with the rifle and shotgun shooters and hunters in general.

We are a club and group for everyone we have:

- 22 acres of undulating property where we have
- 3D target ranges,
- Club days and interclub tournaments
- Training and practice days
- Families and junior members most welcome
- Corporate functions

Welcome All Visitors

Bows and equipment for hire -
$10.00 Recurves Genesis Compound Left and right-handed bows.
​$10.00 Broken or lost arrows.


First time visitors to a club day the range fee is waived. Entry level coaching and/or info re buying your first bow is available.
Laporte Archery thrower – only 2 in NZ, this is great fun for the group.


​Events and Club days:
​

Bowhunter & Archery Club Day
- 2nd Sunday of each month, this is always on the TVDA 
   Club Calendar (this can change due to other events or       for bad weather an email or website post will be put up).

- Club day starts at 8.00 this is when members put out a 
   mixture of 2D and 3D targets for the club day.

- Club day assembly squadding up at 9.00am. 
- Bowhunting. 
- We have several Master Bowhunters in our midst who 
    are only too happy to share tips on this topic too.



Practice Range
- There is a permanent full time practice range available
    for members.

- 10 bales with 2D faces.
- After your membership and induction are completed*
   you are welcome to use the practice range.
-*Range Officers will take you through the Range
   Induction.  


 
Interclub Tournaments
Held each year between 4 clubs:
-Thames Valley Deerstalkers Archers,
-Pine Ridge Archery,
-Franklin County Archers,
-Lake View Archers.

These tournaments are made up of 20 targets in the morning and 20 in the afternoon.
These days are first and foremost a fun day of archery for the family.
Low level competition.
Bums on seats (numbers on the day will win the day) for the series points at the end of the Interclub year.  


 
TVDA also offers in general:
- Club night – LAST Wednesday of each month. (except 
   December)

- Guest speakers, Demonstrations Social time and
   supper / food as well.

- Survival Camp for the kids (5 – 18 years) January each
   year.

- HUNTS. (Hunter Training Course)
